Planning

Dunn and Associates offers Planning services as a core component to our Design Services package. Assimilating and translating the raw programmatic data into an efficient and personalized architectural solution is the essence of the Planning process. We also attempt to integrate those less quantitative components of a client's business or service such as "image", ambience, physical context, spatial psychology, and privacies within the functional and budgetary aspects of the problem to create a solution which transcends the obvious or banal. Multiple design solutions are offered to the client as a means of opening discussion of a more revealing nature as to the best operation of his or her facility.

Planning Services may include the following:

• Exposing & understanding the "biological" function of client's business.
• Graphic representation of the layered flow patterns of people, data, materials, and related systems.
• Area and proportional scheduling of departmental allocations.
• Contiguities as prioritized between various facilities and staffing personnel.
• Support system requirements (such as bathrooms, commons, janitorial, MEP systems, etc.)
• Inherent design flexibility and future expansibility.
• Implementation of design in terms of phasing over time or around a current operation.
• Development of graphic function and process diagrams.
• Optional Schematic Design plan solutions.
• Evaluation and layout of client equipment and furnishing systems to fully comprehend scale and spatial relationships.
• Assistance in creating the client Program to serve as the basis for all planning and design studies.
